Bucky on Parade Unveil - Success!

"Every Veteran is a Story"

Last Monday J&K Security Solutions' very own Kim & Jeff Beckmann proudly took part in

Bucky on Parade Unveiling at the Wisconsin State Capital in Madison. 85 life-size Bucky statues were unveiled simultaneously across the city.

Bucky on Parade is a free public art event that will run throughout Madison & Dane County from May 7–September 12, 2018. Local and regional artists will transform these Bucky statues into unique works of art.

We chose to Sponsor the theme "Every Veteran is a Story" in support of Jeffrey Beckmann's Service in the Marine Corp, though for us it is an extreme honor to celebrate all Veterans through this project. "It's a cause that's close to home for us" said owners Jeff & Kim.

The Madison Area Sports Commission is the producer of the event, with support from the Greater Madison Convention & Visitors Bureau and in partnership with the University of Wisconsin-Madison, University of Wisconsin Athletics, and Wisconsin Foundation & Alumni Association. Event proceeds will support Coach Greg Gard’s “Garding Against Cancer”, Madison Area Sports Commission and other community charities.

Bucky on Parade will provide many opportunities for the community to get involved and be a part of the fun, leading up to and during the parade months. Please join our Bucky on Parade Fan Club to stay in the loop on event happenings. You’ve never seen Bucky like this before!

Bucky's Description: This statue honors all the brave members of our armed forces. The artist used her friend Brian's 32nd Infantry arm insignia on Bucky. Brian is a Sergeant Major with the Wisconsin National Guard and the patch is from his service with the 32nd. The artist was also able to use her patch from the 101st Airborne Division.

Artist: Yvette Pino

Bio: I love the way art can connect communities to engage in conversations. My art is the one constant in my life and the thing I am most confident about. I love the way the art process challenges me both mentally and physically. My work at the Wisconsin Veterans Museum allows me to think artistically about the veteran experience. As a veteran and an artist, I am inspired by the many stories that encompass the veteran experience. Bucky has a way of representing the Wisconsin community and my design is hoping to represent the veteran community in Wisconsin.
