Inmate suspected of burglary
Images from a home surveillance system helped Madison police identify a man they believe was responsible for a home burglary last summer.
Police said the owner of a home that was burglarized in the 1500 block of Packers Avenue recently spotted his stolen power saw at Pawn America on East Springs Drive.
The investigating officer used an online tool to find the name and photo of the man who sold the saw and found that it matched the image of a man taken from the victim’s home surveillance system.
Nathaniel D. Abrams Jr., 58, of Madison, if currently in jail on an unrelated charged. Police said he admitted to selling the saw but said he had bought it from someone else and had not stolen it.
Police are asking that Abrams be charged with burglary and fraudulent writings.
